We are all feeling the impact this virus is having on our daily lives. It's slowing things down and limiting the variation and options that we usually take for granted. We've compiled a report on how Covid19 is effecting us.
These are not not N95 masks. It won’t stop you getting Covid19, but it will reduce the risk of spreading it. If we protect everyone, we end up well protected ourselves. It takes no resources away from our health services who depend on high quality PPE.
The aim is to catch coughs, reduce hand-to-face contact, and give the wearer a bit of peace of mind. If we all protect each other, we'll end up well protected ourselves.
Fever blankets seem to have been forgotten with time, however I’m sure you’ll have experienced one. Being too hot, then too cold, sweating regardless of temperature, and the complete lack of satisfaction that comes from either a sheet or a duvet when trying to just stay comfortable and sleep.
The sun is wonderful - and one of the best ways to get your dose vitamin D. However sunburn is real. Even for those of us that can tan, there are times where the sun is just a bit too hot.
Sun Scarves keep the sun off your neck and cover your face, they're pretty versatile. And they are made of linen (100% pure Irish linen), so you'll not overheat. They're perfect for hot weather - wicking away moisture and letting you breath.
We've also got a whole variety of designs for you to choose from! Check them out!
Irish Linen Properties is a collaboration project. This new normal made us rethink and revise our whole business structure.
We’ve over 170 years of experience at Thomas Ferguson’s Irish Linen, and the fashion finesse of John England. Instead of waiting for things to get back to the way they were pre-covid19, we’re adapting.
To produce products that save money and help with life in the new normal. To create things that help keep us clean, comfortable and protected. To work with and support our local community.
Benefits to you?
We’re Local. We weave, cut and sew our products in Co. Down, N. Ireland (UK) in our factory. Linen is a sustainable cloth. It lends itself to everyday use, and washes easily, and dries quickly on the line or on a radiator - it’s fine to tumble dry, too! We can fulfill every order we get - the post may be a bit slower than normal, but it will get there, and we’ll make sure you get your order!
They’ve been weaving the highest quality linen (made from flax) for over a century and a half. That’s not all. Nobody else in Ireland weaves damask. Nobody else in the world produces double damask.
Damask is a fabric that has high enough thread count for us to be able to incorporate complicated patterns and designs. Double damask is a stage above this, and it’s essentially higher resolution than single damask
But we’re not just producing products that look good and perform a function. Linen has features that other fabrics don’t. Our linen is dew retted. This means it can reduce the growth of bacteria by around 50%.
It’s hypoallergenic, natural, sustainable, eco friendly (cotton can be pretty bad for the environment), and it’s something that is worth its cost. You will get plenty of use out of our products, as our quality is world renowned.
We are working with our local community to produce a lot of our products at ILP.
A lot of people have been furloughed, made redundant, or are expected to survive on statutory sick pay.
Small business owners, like many other businesses, have seen a significant drop in trade as many businesses are closed. They’ve had their lives turned upside down. So we’re working together with local small businesses and individuals in our community so that they’ve some support.
We’ve got to stick together and help each other if we’re going to get through this! So every time you buy a mask, you’re helping not just us, but a wider portion of our community.
